New- Undelete 2009 incorporates the innovative InvisiTasking performance technology.
InvisiTasking is a revolutionary method for a computer application (Undelete) to perform its operations with zero overhead on a computer, effectively allowing it to run invisibly in the “background”. These now invisible background tasks include:
Purging older files the Recovery Bin™ when it fills up (per settings). (note, files are purged on a First-In First-Out basis).
Managing the common Recovery Bin (moving files from one volume to another),
Securely overwriting free spaces using the automatic Wipe Free Space (see Secure Delete 2.0 below for more information),
Automatically adjusting the size of the Recovery Bin (more information below).
Enhanced Instant Recovery The Undelete 2009 Recovery Bin catches all files no matter how they were deleted, allowing you to restore them instantly with just a few clicks of the mouse. The Recovery Bin mimics the directory structure of your disk and includes a powerful search function, making it easy to find and recover files.
Undelete 2009 now automatically adjusts the size of the Recovery Bin to the available free space on a volume. If the size of a volume becomes critically low, Undelete automatically detects this low free space situation and reduces the Recovery Bin size. If more space is available, Undelete can protect additional files.
Version Recovery Have you ever worked on an important document, presentation or spreadsheet, diligently saving your work as you go, only to discover that the changes you’ve made to the file are not workable, and you need to “rollback” to an earlier saved version? With Undelete you can. Undelete allows instant recovery of older ("saved over") versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files.
As you modify and save Microsoft Office documents, Undelete transparently captures versions of the file in the exact state they’re in before they’re modified and saved. This way, when a you need to go back to an earlier version of a file, Undelete provides that missing version.
Version Recovery is integrated with Windows Explorer—simply right-click a file to recover earlier versions. Undelete presents all the versions available and even allows you to open the files to preview them (to determine if that is the version that you need to recover).
Enhanced Emergency Undelete Emergency Undelete is a separate utility included with Undelete 2009 (note, it is not included with Undelete trialware.) used to recover files, and their respective folders, accidentally deleted before installing the Undelete. As installing software (writing any new files) on a computer can overwrite the deleted files you want to recover, thereby making them unrecoverable, Emergency Undelete can be run directly from a CD-ROM/USB drive.
New - SecureDelete 2.0 Erases confidential files for good. When SecureDelete is enabled, files that are purged from the recovery bin are securely overwritten using a methodology developed for the National Security Agency and the Department of Defense.
New– Undelete can now securely delete files in the Recovery Bin immediately, rather than waiting for the files to be purged from the bin.
New– The Wipe Free Space feature securely overwrites free space, guaranteeing that file remnants that occupied that space on your hard drive can never be recovered.
In addition to searching by file name/extension and location, this powerful tool allows users to locate deleted files by the date they were created or deleted and even track down the owner or users who deleted the file.
